Project xeon is a migration being performed on Pixelwave Deisgns customer servers over the next 2 months. This includes the migration of servers running pentium 4 servers, to dual xeon 2.8ghz systems. The average xeon server will feature...
- cpanel/whm
- 2gb ddr ram
- 2x 73gb scsi 10,000rpm hard drives
- dual 2.4 or 2.8ghz xeon processors
Current servers range from 1.7ghz->2Ghz systems, the migration to new servers will allow us to increase performance.
What will happen?
Project Xeon will be starting on this server on Tuesday 22nd February, and will last around 48hrs. During this time DNS entries will automatically update to the new server, and all data/settings will be copied directly to the new server (24hrs).
During the time between the DNS refreshing, and the time of the backup we make, you may lose recently uploaded data.
I do not anticipate any downtime of websites during this migration.
More news will be posted here when the migration is completed or if any problems occur.

Migration has been delayed for a couple of days, it will still take place before the end of this week. I will update you with the new time scale as soon as possible.

Project Xeon has now STARTED and data migration will be completed within 24hrs.

POP3, IMAP, FTP will be offline for most of this afternoon to help complete this migration.

Any domains that I have registered on your behalf will be updated by myself.
If you have control over your own domain name please change your nameservers to the the following:
ns1.xeonserver-two.co.uk
ns2.xeonserver-two.co.uk
Within the next 72hrs your DNS will update and direct your new server. If you notice any problems after this 72hr period, please contact me immediately.
